About our Company:

Universal DX, Inc. is an international Company with a highly experienced team focused on cracking cancer’s code. Through our multi-omics and bioinformatics models, we have figured out how to read the disease’s signals in blood with high accuracy to detect cancer in its earliest stages. Starting with a colorectal cancer screening liquid biopsy test, we are building a multi-cancer platform that can identify the unique DNA regions associated with different types of cancers.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Senior People Operations & Compliance Specialist to support and scale our People function in the United States. This role will play a critical part in ensuring that our HR operations run smoothly while maintaining full compliance with U.S. employment laws and internal policies.

The ideal candidate is a highly organized, detail-oriented HR professional with experience managing the employee lifecycle, HR compliance, benefits administration, and HR systems in a fast-paced, growing environment. Experience in biotech, healthcare, or other regulated industries is a must.

This role will partner closely with leadership, finance, and employees to ensure a seamless employee experience while maintaining strong operational rigor and compliance standards.

How you’ll contribute:

Employee Lifecycle

  • Oversee end-to-end employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, transitions, and offboarding.

HR Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with U.S. federal, state, and local employment laws, including wage and hour regulations, employee classification, and leave policies.
  • Manage I-9 verification and employment eligibility compliance, including coordination with E-Verify where applicable.
  • Maintain HR compliance documentation and support internal or external audits as needed.
  • Partner with our external labor advisor when necessary to ensure compliance with evolving employment regulations.
  • Support workplace investigations and policy enforcement processes when required.

Benefits Administration

  • Administer, manage, and propose improvements on the employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans (401k), and other employee benefits offerings.
  • Coordinate benefits enrollment processes, including new hire enrollments and annual open enrollment.
  • Serve as liaison between employees and benefits providers to resolve issues and answer questions.

HR Systems & Data Management

  • Maintain and ensure data integrity within the company’s HRIS system.
  • Manage employee data updates, reporting, and HR documentation within HR systems.
  • Support HR reporting and provide data insights related to workforce metrics when needed.

Payroll Coordination

  • Coordinate with Finance and payroll providers to ensure accurate processing of payroll inputs, including new hires, compensation changes, bonuses, and terminations.
  • Review payroll data for accuracy and resolve discrepancies as needed.

HR Programs & Process Improvement

  • Support the implementation and administration of HR programs such as performance reviews, employee engagement initiatives, and internal HR policies.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, systems, and employee experience.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of HR policies and the employee handbook.

Business partner

  • Works closely with the Operations department to align HR initiatives with business goals.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in HR operations, people operations, or HR compliance roles.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. employment laws and HR compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing benefits administration and employee lifecycle processes.
  • Experience working with HRIS platforms (e.g., BambooHR, Rippling, ADP, Workday, or similar).
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in biotech, healthcare, life sciences, or other regulated industries.
  • Experience supporting a fast-growing company or startup environment.
  • Familiarity with multi-state employment compliance in the U.S.
  • HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR is a plus.
