The Opportunity:
Universal DX is seeking a Sample Management Coordinator to take full ownership of the lifecycle of biological samples within our assay development laboratory. This role is responsible for the accessioning, organization, and retrieval of samples across multiple workflows, maintaining strict adherence to chain-of-custody and storage protocols. The Sample Management Coordinator will serve as the point person for all sample-related activity in the lab, including fulfilling requests from scientific staff, documenting sample transfers, and maintaining a detailed, audit-ready inventory system. This individual will oversee both short- and long-term sample storage, ensuring accurate tracking, appropriate environmental conditions, and clear segregation of sample types. This individual will work closely with the Manager, Lab Operations and the Lab Operations team to manage sample availability, ensure data integrity and traceability, and support efficient laboratory workflows across all teams.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related scientific field preferred; associate’s degree with relevant lab experience will be considered
- 1–3 years of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in sample handling, biorepository, and regulated environments
- Familiarity with chain-of-custody procedures, cold storage handling, and sample accessioning best practices
- Excellent attention to detail, documentation habits, and organizational skills
- Ability to follow SOPs and regulatory requirements precisely
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with LIMS a plus
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-first attitude.
