Client Engagement Associate (CEA) – part time (20 hrs./week - 6-month position)
Reports to: Director of Client Engagement
Primary Assignment: Rady Children’s Health OC (formerly CHOC)
Job Summary
The Client Engagement Associate (CEA) for Inneo Lab (the Lab) serves as a frontline catalyst for the mission to support and sustain a culture of innovation and transform healthcare through collaboration. Assigned to (CHOC) Rady Children’s Health OC as well as providing support to other member health systems as needed, is responsible for building trusted relationships with clinical and administrative stakeholders, surfacing high-value ideas, and helping move innovation opportunities forward. The role includes research, engagement programming, cold outreach, pipeline oversight, and collaboration with internal Lab teams. The CEA works in close partnership with the Client Engagement Executives and reports to the Director of Client Engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as principal catalyst at Rady Children’s Health OC for Inneo Lab’s mission to create, support and sustain a culture of innovation and to transform healthcare through collaboration.
- Cultivate and nurture productive relationships with key stakeholders at Rady Children’s Health OC.
- Review and screen submissions for appropriate scope and opportunity based on market and clinical need.
- Lead efforts to engage clinicians in structured “Painstorming” to define and understand problems and brainstorming efforts to generate commercially viable product concepts.
- Collaborate with clinicians to define/refine problem statements, understand unmet needs, and validate market assumptions.
- Conduct early-stage market assessments to evaluate opportunity viability.
- Collaborate with fellow team members and integrate with other teams to facilitate a transparent process.
- Regularly track and report on innovation pipeline for Rady Children’s Health OC.
- Lead other projects as assigned by the Director of Client Engagement

- Comfortable and experienced with cold outreach (LinkedIn, email, networking).
- Adept at building and fostering productive relationships and buy in with key stakeholders.
- Willingness to collaborate on initiatives outside direct domain and respective health systems.
- Excellent organizational, project management and communication skills
- Self-starter and fast learner who thrives in evolving environments—able to pivot, adapt, and be scrappy. Comfortable executing and delivering on commitments with limited supervision and training.

- Capable of prioritizing and multitasking with solid problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working on undefined projects that challenge finding solutions to unarticulated needs.

- Ability to lead facilitated innovation, brainstorming and related activities.
- Business and technical capability to design and implement online innovation challenges.
- Demonstrates curiosity and a willingness to learn and implement new concepts and tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (healthcare, business, science, bio design, public health, etc.).
- 1+ years of experience in healthcare, bio design programs, innovation, research, or a related field preferred.
- Prior experience in healthcare, innovation ecosystems, startups, product development, or commercialization is a plus.
- Prior/current employment with Rady Children’s Health OC (CHOC) preferred.
