At Sidekick Health, we build digital health products that empower people to live healthier lives and take an active role in their treatment. As a Senior Product Designer (Rx), you’ll work at the intersection of healthcare, behaviour change and technology, creating product experiences that make a meaningful difference for patients.

Your role goes beyond traditional UX/UI design. Working closely with Product, Engineering, Clinical and fellow designers, you’ll be involved throughout the entire product development lifecycle – from discovery and user research to validation, design and delivery. You’ll understand user problems, challenge assumptions and use research and data not just to design solutions well, but to make sure we’re building the right solutions in the first place.

Because our products are used by patients as part of their treatment, usability, accessibility and patient safety are at the heart of how we design. You’ll succeed in this role by becoming a strategic yet hands-on product partner, turning user insights into informed product decisions and creating measurable improvements for both our users and our products.

Product Discovery

  • Plan and lead user research with patients, healthcare professionals and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Partner with Product Managers to identify and prioritise meaningful user and customer problems.
  • Translate qualitative and quantitative insights into product opportunities and validate concepts through interviews, prototypes and usability testing.
  • Challenge assumptions and champion evidence-based product decisions.

Product Design

  • Design intuitive end-to-end experiences across web and mobile, from user flows and wireframes to prototypes and high-quality interfaces.
  • Balance user needs with business goals and clinical, regulatory and technical requirements.
  • Work closely with Engineering throughout implementation to ensure a high-quality final product experience.

Regulated Healthcare Design

  • Apply usability engineering principles throughout the product development lifecycle and contribute to the required documentation for regulated medical device software.
  • Design with accessibility, patient safety and regulatory requirements in mind from the outset.
  • Partner with Clinical and Regulatory to translate complex requirements into clear and intuitive user experiences.

Systems Thinking

  • Contribute to the evolution of our Design System and ensure consistency across products and platforms.
  • Think beyond individual features to improve complete user journeys and service experiences.

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Act as a close product partner to Product, Engineering, Clinical and Regulatory, actively bringing the user and design perspective into product decisions.
  • Facilitate workshops and collaborative discovery and design sessions, and communicate design decisions clearly and confidently.
  • Support other designers through feedback and mentoring, while helping evolve our design processes and ways of working.

Your Profile

  • Several years of experience designing complex digital products across the entire product development lifecycle, from discovery to delivery
  • Excellent skills in UX, interaction and visual design, with a passion for staying hands-on at senior level
  • Strong product thinking and a strategic mindset. You don’t just want to shape how a solution looks, but help decide which problems we solve and why
  • Experience planning and conducting user research and translating qualitative and quantitative insights into clear product direction
  • An evidence-based approach, using research and data to inform decisions and improve usability and user outcomes
  • Experience working cross-functionally, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills to constructively influence product decisions
  • Confidence navigating ambiguity and the ability to structure complex challenges while pragmatically balancing user, business and regulatory needs
  • Fluency in German and English (C1) is required
  • Strong proficiency in Figma and modern prototyping tools

Nice to have

  • Experience with regulated healthcare or medical device products and knowledge of DiGA, MDR, BfArM, IEC 62366 or ISO 13485
  • Experience with behavioural design or behaviour change
  • Experience contributing to and evolving Design Systems
  • Active use and experimentation with AI tools and workflows to improve discovery, design and delivery
