THE OPPORTUNITY:
Our Cloud Engineering team builds the scalable, secure, and reliable systems that power our digital health platforms - enabling real-time insights from bedside to cloud. We are seeking an experienced Senior Software QA Engineer to lead quality assurance efforts for Sibel’s ANNE One Centralization Solution (on-prem and cloud). You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that every piece of Sibel’s connected health ecosystem performs flawlessly in the moments that matter most.
The Senior Software QA Engineer will lead the verification of Sibel’s core healthcare systems by designing and executing test protocols that ensure our core functionality is solid and then pushing it to the limits. This hands-on QA-focused position, focused on manual testing, will drive system, workflow, data integrity, and security verification across web and on-premise solutions.
WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON:
Lead Quality Assurance & System Verification
- Own end-to-end test planning, execution, and documentation for the ANNE One Centralization Solution .
- Design and perform functional, integration, and regression tests across web applications, APIs, and backend services.
- Manually test complex clinical workflows, data synchronization, and user interface components across devices and browsers.
- Verify the complete data pipeline spanning wearable sensors, ANNE One Centralization Solution, and hospital integration systems — ensuring data integrity, timeliness, and accuracy throughout the ecosystem.
- Execute test cases in realistic, regulated, real-world environments, including air-gapped and restricted network conditions.
- Drive release readiness reviews, build verification testing, and validation of software updates in regulated environments.
- Log detailed defects and collaborate cross-functionally to support their resolution.
- Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement of QA processes.
Champion Compliance & Healthcare Standards
- Ensure system behavior aligns with regulatory and quality standards such as HIPAA, ISO 13485, and IEC 62304.
- Conduct risk-based testing for safety-critical features, data security, and privacy protection.
- Work closely with compliance, security, and product teams to ensure adherence to healthcare interoperability standards, such as HL7, FHIR, IEEE 11073 SDC).
- Establish and maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, and verification reports to ensure Sibel meets its quality metrics and to support design history file documentation.
Automation & Continuous Improvement
- Partner with the Cloud Engineering team to continuously assess and enhance QA processes through the selection and implementation of effective testing tools and practices.
- Maintain familiarity with test automation frameworks (e.g., pytest, Postman, or Selenium) to contribute to semi-automated validation where beneficial.
- Contribute to continuous integration and testing processes (e.g., GitHub Actions).
- Propose innovative testing strategies and tooling to support those strategies.
Collaboration
- Partner with developers in design and sprint planning meetings to ensure testability of new features from the outset.
ABOUT YOU:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with proven expertise in hands-on testing of web and server-based systems.
- Experience testing web applications (front-end and backend APIs), preferably with clinical or data-driven workflows.
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL or MySQL, Redis, and Kafka.
- Strong understanding of client-server architecture, HTTP communication, and API testing principles.
- Experience verifying systems in on-premise, air-gapped, or hybrid environments.
- Excellent skills in defect tracking, test documentation, and test case management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr).
- Exceptional attention to detail, analytical mindset, and communication skills.
YOU MAY THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF:
- Strong preference for familiarity with test automation frameworks (pytest, Selenium, or Robot Framework).
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Prior experience in medical devices, digital health, or clinical data management environments.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles or experience validating secure deployments.
- Understanding of observability and monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus, ELK).
- Experience collaborating in agile or regulated software development lifecycles.
