Design, develop, and debug embedded software/firmware for medical device
sensors, including microcontroller programming, device drivers, and
communication protocols. Contribute to the design, implementation, and
testing of firmware to ensure reliability, performance, and
functionality of company products. Collaborate with cross-functional
teams, including hardware engineering, software engineering, and
clinical affairs to define firmware requirements, specifications, and
interfaces. Implement firmware algorithms for data acquisition, signal
processing, and sensor calibration to meet performance and quality
requirements. Write and maintain firmware documentation, including
design documents, code comments, and test plans, to ensure traceability
and compliance with regulatory requirements. Conduct unit testing,
integration testing, and system testing of firmware to verify
functionality, reliability, and interoperability with other system
components. Identify and troubleshoot firmware issues, investigate root
causes, and implement corrective actions to address bugs, defects, and
performance issues. Support hardware testing and validation activities,
including prototype testing, design verification testing (DVT), and
regulatory testing (e.g., EMC/EMI testing). Conduct design reviews, code
reviews, and sprint planning sessions to contribute to the overall
success of firmware development initiatives. Adhere to regulatory
requirements and quality standards governing medical device firmware
development, including FDA regulations, ISO standards, and IEC
guidelines. Supervise Senior Firmware Engineer. Working remotely one day
per week is permitted.
