Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Bachelor of Optometry graduate to join our Device as a Service (DaaS) team. The Optometrist will play a critical role in supporting eye screening projects across Karnataka, working closely with screening projects for communities & healthcare providers using our cutting-edge screening devices to deliver high-quality eye care services. This role requires extensive travel within Karnataka and proficiency in English, Kannada, with knowledge of other South Indian languages and Hindi being an advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct eye screenings and vision assessments using Remidio’s advanced screening and diagnostic devices at various locations across Karnataka.
- Support the Device as a Service team in deploying, operating, and maintaining eye care devices during screening camps and outreach programs.
- Educate patients, healthcare workers, and community members on eye health, preventive care, and the importance of regular screenings.
- Collect, document, and manage patient data accurately, adhering to privacy and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with the DaaS team to ensure seamless execution of eye screening projects, including logistics and coordination with local stakeholders.
- Provide feedback on device usability and patient experience to improve service delivery and device performance.
- Assist in training local healthcare staff on the use of Remidio’s diagnostic equipment.
- Maintain professional standards of care and adhere to organizational protocols during fieldwork.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Bachelor of Optometry (B.Optom) from a recognized institution.
- Experience: 0-1 year of experience in optometry or eye care (fresh graduates are welcome to apply).
- Language Proficiency: Fluent in English & Kannada, (mandatory) good to know Hindi and other South Indian languages.
- Travel: Willingness to travel extensively across Karnataka for eye screening projects.
- Technical Skills: Basic understanding of diagnostic devices and interest in healthcare technology.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse communities.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in dynamic, field-based settings.
- Empathy and a passion for improving access to eye care.
- Other Requirements:
- Valid certification/license to practice optometry in India .
- Comfortable working in rural and semi-urban areas with varying infrastructure.
