Job Summary

The Quality Technician - Incoming Inspection is responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of incoming materials, components, and subassemblies through inspection, documentation review, and disposition activities. This role supports the identification and resolution of quality issues, collaborates with cross-functional teams and suppliers to drive continuous improvement, and maintains compliance with the Quality Management System and applicable regulatory requirements, including ISO 13485 and FDA regulations.

Responsabilities

  • Perform incoming inspection of raw materials, components, and subassemblies received from suppliers in accordance with approved procedures, specifications, drawings, and inspection plans.

  • Review receiving documentation, certificates of conformity, material certifications, and supplier records to ensure completeness and compliance.

  • Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records in accordance with Quality Management System requirements.

  • Disposition incoming materials as accepted, rejected, or requiring further evaluation.

  • Initiate and support investigations of nonconforming materials, including the creation of nonconformance reports and participation in root cause analysis activities.

  • Coordinate with Supplier Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to resolve quality issues related to incoming materials.

  • Ensure proper identification, segregation, and control of nonconforming products.

  • Support supplier monitoring and improvement activities by providing inspection data and feedback on supplier performance.

  • Maintain inspection equipment and ensure calibration status is current and compliant with applicable procedures.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of incoming inspection processes, procedures, and quality controls.

  • Support internal audits, external audits, and regulatory inspections related to supplier controls and incoming inspection activities.

  • Ensure compliance with the company's Quality Management System and applicable regulatory requirements, including ISO 13485 and FDA Quality System requirements.

Qualification & Experience

  • Technical or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related field.

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in Quality Control, Incoming Inspection, or a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience in regulated or high-precision industries such as Medical Devices, Aerospace, Automotive, or similar industries.

  • Experience performing incoming inspection of purchased components, raw materials, and supplier-provided products.

  • Proficiency with inspection and measurement equipment, including calipers, micrometers, go/no gauge

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of incoming inspection and quality control processes.

  • Familiarity with engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and GD&T principles.

  • Knowledge of sampling plans and statistical inspection methods.

  • Understanding of traceability requirements, supplier quality documentation, and quality management systems.

  • Knowledge of quality standards and regulated environments such as ISO 13485, ISO 9001, and GMP requirements.

  • Bilingual in French and English. The role requires communication with colleagues, suppliers, and clients internationally.

  • High level of accuracy, consistency, and accountability.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and inspection requirements.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Ability to identify, document, and escalate nonconformities appropriately.
