Pretect devices’ iv guardian is an innovative monitoring system that detects and prevents neonatal infiltration and extravasation injury from iv lines and in particular preterm neonates. If iv leakage is not prevented or treated rapidly in neonates it leads to devastating injury and debilitating long-term conditions such as significant chemical burns and even amputation. Pretect devices developed from the winning team of 2021 perth biodesign for medtech course and in 2022 won a new industries: innovation booster grant.
