In-Person Position

OXOS is searching for a methodical and technically proficient X-Ray Test Engineer to join our high-growth company. You will join a dynamic team of passionate people who work daily to change how radiographic diagnostics are delivered. OXOS’ mission is to increase access and availability using the world’s first portable Dynamic Digital Radiography devices.

Responsibilities

As the X-Ray Test Engineer, you will support the development and deployment of x-ray testing systems used in both R&D and production environments. Your work will span from hands-on electrical testing to software-driven test automation, contributing to data analysis and visualization for regulatory, quality, and performance purposes. You will be responsible for improving test processes, developing tooling and infrastructure, and ensuring safety in high-voltage and radiation environments.Your core responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Operate and maintain test systems used to evaluate x-ray power supplies and monoblocks.
  • Support staff engineers in root cause analysis of failures and optimize test infrastructure for reliability and efficiency.
  • Execute and improve test protocols for incoming x-ray tubes and high voltage power supplies, documenting and reporting results.
  • Conduct verification and validation testing to support regulatory submissions and internal optimization.
  • Create and maintain test data, manage its storage and presentation, and basic statistical process control tools to drive product quality.
  • Collaborate with mechanical and x-ray engineers to develop test fixtures and automate testing processes.
  • Ensure calibration and maintenance of all testing equipment, adhering to FDA, IEC, and internal standards.
  • Follow all radiation and high-voltage safety protocols.
  • Test Development & Execution
    • Assist in designing and executing electrical test protocols for high-voltage X-ray components under supervision of staff engineers.
    • Use basic test equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, function generators), and OXOS proprietary testing equipment to collect and analyze tube performance data.
    • Calibrate and maintain testing setups used for evaluating X-ray power supplies and related subsystems.
  • MATLAB and Data Analysis
    • Use MATLAB for data acquisition, test automation, and visualization.
    • Develop scripts to automate routine measurements and generate graphical reports.
    • Perform basic statistical analysis and trend monitoring on production and R&D datasets.
  • Electrical & Mechanical Design Support
    • Contribute to breadboard and prototype development for test fixtures and early-stage electrical systems.
    • Assist in wiring, soldering, enclosure assembly, and integration of mechanical-electrical subsystems.
    • Support mechanical design iterations using CAD software and implementing changes with rapid prototyping and machined parts.
  • Documentation & Reporting
    • Document test results, fixture configurations, and troubleshooting notes.
    • Support the creation of inspection protocols and process documents.
    • Communicate findings and suggestions for design/test improvements to the engineering team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB for data processing and test automation.
  • Hands-on experience with basic electronics lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies).
  • Exposure to mechanical prototyping tools and CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360) is a plus.
  • Comfortable with soldering, wiring, and building physical test setups.
  • Familiarity with Python or C-based languages is a bonus but not required.
