About the Role
Reporting to the Manager of Science Development, you will plan, execute, and analyse multiple experiments and projects for product development verification & validation, managing data to support the development of Nutromics’ continuous molecular monitoring platform and biosensor product. You will also contribute innovative solutions to complex challenges.
Some of your responsibilities
- Lead Nutromics’ scientific development projects for verification & validation; includes in vitro testing & clinical trials, taking responsibility and working independently to design; execute; collect and analyse data; for experiments on Nutromics’ aptamer-based electrochemistry technology.
- Maintain a high-quality lab notebook to document experimental plans, results, and analysis on timely manner. Establish & optimise new protocol, processes and workflows.
- Transition research findings into development via Standard Operating Procedures, Quality Control Records, Audit Trails, Regulatory Compliance Reports.
- Transition R&D lab production & testing to manufacturing scale.
- Establish efficient & compliant data management processes.
- Establish pass/fail metrics for incoming goods & sub-components and streamline workflow.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to engage in problem-solving efforts.
- Collaboration to ensure smooth transition between Research & Development.
- Excellent communication skills (orally & written) to present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to translate in vitro testing towards a product with in vivo testing.
- Assist with ordering and procurement of supplies and equipment and with general maintenance of laboratory. Work with external vendors to establish relationships & provide technical support to ensure manufacturing processes are meeting quality standards. Coordinate with suppliers to source high-quality materials and equipment necessary for production.
- Adhere to Nutromics' work health and safety policies and procedures maintaining a commitment to conducting all work activities in a manner that prioritizes safety and ensures a safe work environment for all employees.
- Perform other reasonable duties as required.
Must have:
- Bachelors degree in Biotechnology or Molecular Biology or Bioinformatics or Organic Chemistry or Physical-Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry or Electrochemistry or related area.
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience
- Proficiency in wet lab work and scaling production.
- Extensive experience in statistical analysis and data interpretation to drive research insights and decision-making.
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory pathways and compliance requirements for product development and approval.
- Proven track record of taking products to market, from initial concept through to successful commercialization.
- Experience in development of new processes and workflows.
- Proven experience in excellent organisational and communication, collaborative skills.
Preferred:
- Experience working in quality-controlled environment for the development of medical devices.
- Master of Science degree or PhD in Biotechnology or Molecular Biology or Bioinformatics or Organic Chemistry or Physical-Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry or Electrochemistry or related area
- Experience in research and development of DNA based electrochemical sensors.
- Proven track record by publications and /or patents.
- Proven experience in independently leading projects.
