Director, Product Management
About The Job:
Medable endeavors to revolutionize clinical trials through the integration of digital technologies and an AI-first approach. We are looking for a director of product management that likes to solve hard problems. Our directors of product management play a key role in designing solutions that are valuable (our customers choose to buy or use), viable (the solution works within the many constraints of the heavily regulated clinical trial industry), usable (sites and participants can figure out how to use) and feasible (our engineers have the skills and technology to implement a globalized solutions). This role is accountable for ensuring the solution is both valuable and viable.
You collaborate with your engineering lead and design lead to gain an understanding of dependencies required from other product teams and identify risks upfront. Engages in collaborative conversations with users, stakeholders, customers, engineering leads, and designers that focuses on problems and outcomes. This role must collaborate closely with their product designer and engineers to discover effective solutions, and then work together to deliver those solutions to market.
While we empower our product teams to figure out the best solutions to the problems that need to be solved, we also hold those teams accountable to the results. Shipping is necessary, but not sufficient. We look for product managers that are not afraid of signing up for results, even when this means you have to work through others to achieve the necessary results. You will balance short-term goals and long-term vision, prioritizing problems to provide a competitive advantage to support business opportunities.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and management of a digital platform that enables the delivery of life science products and services to customers with an AI first approach. You will be the driving force behind the platform's product strategy and roadmap, working with cross-functional teams to ensure that the platform is aligned with the needs of the business and its customers. This role requires a deep understanding of the life sciences industry, as well as experience in product management and digital platforms. You will own all enterprise experience activities from user management to core administration functions on a SaaS Platform. Engineering Leads are responsible for the technical dependency, however, the director of product management should facilitate and understand these dependencies. This job, as with the other roles on the product team, is an individual contributor role. You will need to be able to influence your teammates, as well as colleagues, stakeholders, and key executives, through your use of data and logic.
Necessary Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or MBA in computer science, engineering, management information systems, or related field
8+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on digital platforms and/or life sciences products/services
Deep understanding of the life sciences industry and its products and services, including regulatory requirements and market trends
Experience working with cross-functional teams to develop and launch successful products
Strong analytical skills, with experience using data to inform product decisions
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience working in an agile development environment
Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and deliver results under tight deadlines
