Applied Research ScientistLocation: On-site | Half Moon Bay, CaliforniaOpportunityGenNext Technologies is seeking an outstanding, highly motivated, entrepreneurial, and resourceful Applied Research Scientist with expertise in structural biology/proteomics to work with our customers, along with GenNext research & development, sales, and marketing teams.Responsibilities- Design, develop, and perform radical protein footprinting in protein biochemistry and biopharmaceutical analysis- Analyze customer samples as part of the company’s fee-for-service business- Assist in generating product application literature, presentations, and posters- Contribute to the creation of intellectual property and technical know-how- Interface with design scientists and engineers on application concerns for product development- Work with R&D on product development and applied workflows/protocols- May require approximately 10-20% travelQualificationsRequired- PhD + 3 years in biochemistry, biophysics, analytical chemistry, structural biology, or related fields- Functional knowledge, understanding, and hands-on experience with LC-MS(n) for proteomics research- Demonstrated high degree of professionalism while interacting with clients, as well as establishing, managing, and maintaining client-company rapport- Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and thrive in a dynamic work environment.- Experienced working in a fast-paced early-stage company, with a proven track record of flexibility and resourcefulness in handling diverse responsibilities- Ability to work as an effective and efficient team member- Strong experimental design and troubleshooting with analytical skills- Experienced in data interpretation/analysis and preparation of reports/presentations- Self-motivated scientist, with demonstrated enthusiasm and curiosity in their scientific workPreferred- Experience in an early-stage bio-tools and services company- Experience in the design and performance of protein footprinting (HDX, HRPF, Crosslinking, etc.) to study the higher order structure of proteins- Experience in the performance of structural biology experimentation using NMR, Cryo-EM, or X-ray crystallography- Experience handling protein for immunoassays, gel electrophoresis, and protein separation/purification schemes- Excellent oral and written communication, organizational, and record-keeping skills- Experience in mammalian cell culture techniques, handling and maintenance of cell lines, and performing transient and stable transfectionsCompensationGenNext Technologies offers salaries and benefits as well as employee stock options competitive with other growth-phase companies in the San Francisco Bay area.Please forward inquiries to careers@gnxtech.com.
