We develop a microsurgery assist robot. Microsurgery is a surgical technique of small human vessel connection (anastomosis). It is a versatile and essential technique for reconstructive surgery to improve patients' quality of life (QOL). However, it requires very delicate and precise surgical tool manipulation, and it hinders technique standardization. We develop a robotic system that replicates the surgeon's input motion while minimizing hand tremor and providing motion scale down. The robot is intended to maximize surgical safety and efficacy, and also improve the surgeon's learning curve. We target to increase the number of microsurgeons and patients treated by microsurgery to improve their QOL.
