We are seeking a Part-Time Software Release Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of software releases for our mobile applications used with medical devices. This role will require managing the entire release process from development to post-release activities, ensuring that all releases are compliant with industry regulations and meet high-quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience managing mobile app releases in a regulated environment (such as healthcare or medical devices), with strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams..
As Medical Device Mobile App Release Control Manager at Eko, You Will:
- Release Planning & Coordination:
- Assist and coordinate the release of mobile app updates for medical devices, ensuring smooth, timely, and successful deployments.
- Collaborate with product managers, software developers, quality assurance teams, and regulatory affairs to define release schedules and scope.
- Develop change control plans and track milestones, and identify and mitigate risks that could impact delivery timelines.
- Compliance & Regulatory Oversight:
- Ensure that all software releases comply with relevant medical device regulations, including FDA guidelines, ISO 13485, and other applicable standards (e.g., 21 CFR Part 820, IEC 62304).
- Work with regulatory teams to ensure necessary documentation (e.g., risk assessments, validation reports) is in place for each release.
- Ensure software release processes are well-documented and aligned with industry best practices.
- Version Control & Release Management:
- Oversee version control processes, ensuring that the right versions of the app are released to the appropriate stores (Google Play, Apple App Store, etc.).
- Manage change control processes to ensure that all changes to the app are documented, reviewed, and approved before release.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Act as Quality’s point of contact for all release-related inquiries.
- Facilitate communication between development, quality assurance, product management to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
- Coordinate integration tests, unit tests and facilitate the resolution of defects or feedback before app releases.
- Post-Release Monitoring & Feedback:
- Ensure the proper post-release monitoring and issue tracking for all mobile app updates.
- Collect and analyze feedback from users, stakeholders, and support teams to identify opportunities for improvement in future releases.
- Provide regular release status reports and updates to management, highlighting any potential risks or challenges.
As Medical Device Mobile App Release Control Manager at Eko, You Have:
- 3+ years of experience in software release management, ideally in the medical device or healthcare industry.
- Familiarity with medical device software regulations (FDA, ISO 13485, 21 CFR Part 820, IEC 62304, etc.) and quality management systems.
- Experience with mobile app release processes, including deployment to Google Play and the Apple App Store preferred.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple releases and deadlines.
- Understanding of mobile application development lifecycle, version control, and software release processes.
- Experience working in regulated environments and managing compliance-related documentation.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and tools like Jira, Confluence, or Trello is a plus.
- Familiarity with eQMS a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Health Technology, or related field is required.

- This is a part-time role (20 hours per week) remote work in the Pacific Standard Time zone. Local candidates preferred for occasional in-person office days.
