Description

The Live Sports Programmer is a crucial member of the team responsible for editorial live coverage of Formula 1 on the Apple TV app for our US fans. This role requires collaboration across various departments. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience as a digital, social or video producer or sports journalist. They should also have a proven track record of working for an F1 team, the league, or network on live event coverage. Additionally, they should possess strong skills in strategizing and publishing F1 content and real-time highlights during live broadcasts and are eager to grow the US fanbase. Responsibilities

  • Lead US editorial coverage of F1 broadcasts, including live clipping (studio shows/track events).
  • Strategize, plan, and produce F1 content curated for our US audience across our app and ecosystem.
  • Perform the role with an 'always on' approach, constantly monitoring sports featuring.
  • Project plan and adhere to live sports deadlines across the TV app and sports ecosystem.
  • Daily collaboration with partner leagues and internal live sports engineering, product, design, localization, and operations teams.
  • Work with a sense of urgency to clear out inboxes and keep teams unblocked with kindness and clear communication.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proven demonstrable experience within digital sports journalism, including planning and programming F1 editorial/digital/social content.
  • Fan-focused with elite editorial instincts and reflexes across dayside and live coverage.
  • BA or BS degree in journalism, marketing, or another related field is ideal.
  • A willingness to work hours as dictated by the F1 calendar. This role is a Wednesday-Sunday schedule to support live sports programming across global timezones.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A self-starter who can work with little oversight while maintaining excellent attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate grit, passion, and equity across sports programming tasks.
  • The right candidate should be both a fan and someone who wants to advance the sport in the US.
  • Final Cut/Premiere fundamentals are a plus.
  • Bilingual English & Spanish is beneficial.
