Description
As a Technical Program Manager, you will be leading and responsible for development, qualification, optimization, and production ramp of new process technology and equipment for manufacturing of Apple new products. This is a hands-on position requiring both outstanding technical skills and strong leadership capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Establish and qualify world-class quality infrastructures at supplier factories — encompassing dimensional, functional, and visual measurement systems — setting Apple's standard from day one
- Continuously evaluate quality performance across the supply chain through objective measurement systems, rigorous audits, and on-site verification, maintaining clear and actionable reporting throughout the product lifecycle
- Partner closely with cross-functional teams — Engineering, Process Development, PM, and Procurement — to diagnose quality issues fast and solve them decisively
- Align OQC and IQC quality standards across upstream and downstream suppliers, ensuring measurements are correlated and nothing falls through the cracks
- Turn lessons learned into action — embedding insights into future designs and applying predictive methods to catch quality risks before they ever reach production
- Lead yield and operational excellence initiatives with Contract Manufacturers through hands-on engagement, open communication, and a relentless commitment to continuous improvement
- Identify and resolve gaps in equipment efficiency, UPH, MMR, and material usage — then scale solutions consistently across the vendor network
- Proactively surface critical concerns and present well-reasoned resolution options to senior leadership with clarity and confidence
- Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Validated experience supporting new product launches to mass production from a mechanical, system engineering, or product development perspective with a solid understanding of DFM, DOE, SPC techniques.
- Strong command of English, both written and verbal, with excellent communication skills and the ability to translate high-level goals into clear, actionable plans
- Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to lead complex, multi-stakeholder programs
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally on a frequent basis
- Deep understanding of mechanical drawings, GD&T, and Engineering Requirement Specifications (ERS)
- Proficient in statistical analysis with hands-on experience in JMP or Minitab
- Comfortable building and managing cross-functional networks across internal teams and external partners (suppliers, contract manufacturers)
- Proven ability to apply structured problem-solving methodologies — from failure analysis through to root cause identification, corrective action, and prevention
- Solid experience in precision manufacturing, automation, and assembly processes — with a strong preference for time spent on the factory floor
- Passionate about the consumer electronics industry with relevant experience in quality engineering, process engineering, or product development
- Familiar with modern technologies including Python, Machine Learning, and AI — and eager to leverage them to advance quality and operational outcomes
- Proficiency in Mandarin is a strong advantage, given the nature of supplier and factory engagements across the region
