Cardiawave employs 25 people. The Role: Serving as Tech Lead for Embedded Software, providing technical leadership, driving architectural and technology decisions, and contributing to the design and development of software powering Cardiawave’s medical device platform; requires extensive experience in safety-critical software, real-time systems, and hardware-software integration. Responsibilities: define technology choices and oversee selection of hardware components controlled/monitored by software; prototype, design, specify, and develop real-time control and monitoring software; contribute to software architecture and functional/technical requirements; write and maintain technical documentation (functional specs, detailed design, manufacturing and servicing instructions); maintain and update existing software (improvements, bug fixes); implement and maintain CI/CD and DevOps tools/processes; participate in reviews of software verification activities. Technical qualifications: Master’s (Bac+5) in Computer Engineering or related; 6+ years in embedded software design/development; strong C/C++ (OO design); bare-metal development; microprocessor/DSP programming and device drivers; strong debugging/analytical/problem-solving; ability to interpret datasheets, read schematics, and use oscilloscopes/logic analyzers; knowledge of robotics and functional safety principles; software design patterns; Python programming; experience with libraries/frameworks/protocols such as Boost, TI SDKs, XML-RPC, RTDE; familiarity with Eclipse, VS Code, Visual Studio, CMake, Git, GitLab; experience with embedded testing frameworks (Cantata, VectorCAST, Google Test). Nice to have: medical software (IEC 62304), cybersecurity risk analysis, FPGA knowledge.
